Antimelatoma benthicola is a species of predatory sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Turridae, the turrids.
Distribution
This species is
endemic to
New Zealand, found off
Otago on the east coast of the
South Island.
Habitat
This turrid is found at depths of between 90 and 130
m.
Shell description
The shell is about the size of
Antimelatoma buchanani maorum but narrower, and with the spiral cords heavier, almost entirely without interstitial threads.
The shell coloration is white.
Shell height is up to 14.4 mm, and width is up to 5 mm.
