4-Aminophenol is a white powder.. It is a breakdown product of paracetamol (acetaminophen, U.S. English). The compound is commonly known for its use in the Black and White film developer, Rodinal.
The compound is one of three isomers the other two being 3-aminophenol and 2-aminophenol.
