Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium (Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu) is the home ground of the Turkish football (soccer) club Trabzonspor. It was built in 1951 with a capacity of 2,500 only. With several renovations in 1967, 1981 and between 1994-1998, Trabzonspor's stadium reached the capacity of 25,000 today.
The stadium is named after Hüseyin Avni Aker, a teacher and regional administrator for education, who served during 1940-1944 in Trabzon and contributed much to the local sports. For the new season, the stadium will be modernised.
