Acosta Glacier is a
glacier about 2
miles (3.2
km) long flowing north from
Thurston Island just east of
Dyer Point. Named by
Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after
Alex V. Acosta,
United States Geological Survey (USGS), Flagstaff, Arizona, Computer and graphic specialist, part of the USGS team that compiled the 1:5,000,000-scale
