Barat Academy High School is a
private,
Roman Catholic high school in
Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. It is a part in the
Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Barat Academy's mascot is an eagle and their colors are red and white.
Background
Barat Academy opened to 9th graders only in
2007 and is adding a grade for each year of operation. Currently (in the 2008-2009 school year) it offers both 9th- and 10th-grade education. By the fall of 2011 it will be a full high school and all the buildings and additions should be done. It is founded in the traditions of the
Sacred Heart. The school was named after
Madeleine Sophie Barat, foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart.
