Abdusalam Ibrahim(born 15 August 1991 in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia) is an Ethiopian-American soccer player, currently playing for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer.
Ibrahim grew up in Richfield, Minnesota, where he played for local club team called Wings United.
Ibrahim was a member of the U.S. National U-17 residency program, based at the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and was a member of the US team that lost to Germany in the Round of 16 at the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in South Korea. He appeared in all four matches during the tournament. Ibrahim has since been called up by Thomas Rongen to participate in U-20 camps.
Ibrahim was drafted in the Second Round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, but never played for the first team, and was traded to Toronto FC in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft in June 2008. The pick was Toronto FC natural second round selection, which FCD acquired on Nov. 17, 2006 along with defender Adrian Serioux, in exchange for midfielder Ronnie O'Brien going to Toronto. He made his MLS debut - and scored his first professional goal - on July 12, 2008 against Chicago Fire.
