American
intelligence analysts assert a
Taliban leader named
Abdul Salam (or alternatively Abdul Salaam) was one of the Taliban's commanders on the
Kabul front, during the Taliban's collapse, during late 2001.
Two of the factors justifying Guantanamo captive Mohammad Ahmed Abdullah Saleh Al Hanashi continued detention were:
- The detainee fought under the leadership of Abdul Salam.
- Abdul Salaam was one of the leaders at the Kabul front during the fighting with the Northern Alliance. He was also in charge of mine clearing operations.
