Long established as the UK's biggest advertising agency, AMV became the local outpost for the US network BBDO in 1991, via a minority stake. BBDO acquired the remaining shares in 1998, and it was renamed Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
Along with publishing agency Redwood, direct marketer Craik Jones, and integrated agency Proximity and others, AMV BBDO forms part of AMV Group. AMV Group is, in turn, owned by Omnicom Group.
