The AAMI Vase is a Group 2 Australian Thoroughbred horse race held under set weight conditions, for horses aged 3 years old, over a distance of 2040 metres. It is held at Moonee Valley Racecourse in Melbourne. Prizemoney in 2007 was AUD$205,000.

1983 - 1985 held over 1600m
1986 onwards held over 2040m

1983 – 1988 was a Listed Race
1989 – 1996 was a Group 3
1997 onwards Group 2

1983 - 1989 the race was known as ‘The Herald Vase’
1990 the race was known as the ‘Herald Sun Vase’
1991 - 1992 the race was known as the ‘BMW Vase’
1993 onwards the race has been known as the ‘AAMI Vase’
