1955 Brooklyn Dodgers season

The Dodgers won the 1955 World Series against the New York Yankees four games to three. It was the Dodgers first and only World Series championship won while located in Brooklyn. On May 10, 1955, Duke Snider hit the 200th HR of his career. The opposing pitcher was Warren Hecker and the home run was hit at Wrigley Field. In 1955, Dodgers pitcher Don Newcombe would be the first black pitcher to win twenty games in one season.
