16946 Farnham (1998 HJ51) is a Main-belt Asteroid discovered on Apr. 25, 1998 by the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth Object Search (LONEOS) at Lowell Observatory.

Named for Tony Farnham.

Naming Citation: Tony L. Farnham (b. 1964), an astronomer at the University of Maryland, has studied the dynamics of cometary dust and determined comet rotation states. He has also contributed to the Deep Impact mission by improving the standardization of filter photometry.
