222 Lucia is a large Main belt asteroid. It is classified as a C-type asteroid and is probably composed of primitive carbonaceous material.

Lucia is a member of the Themis family of asteroids.

It was discovered by Johann Palisa on February 9, 1882 in Vienna and named after Lucia, daughter of explorer Graf Wilczek.
